Welcome

Welcome to the homepage of the Annual International Bermuda Sevens Rugby Tournament. The

tournament is set on the sub-tropical island of Bermuda and for 2008 is scheduled for Easter Saturday March 22nd which should allow perfect conditions for free-flowing sevens rugby.

The 2008 tournament is the fifth year of running of the Bermuda Sevens and we already have confirmed teams from the UK, US, Canada as well as the addition of guest players from around the world to our existing teams on the island.

The introduction of the women's program in 2006 was indeed a great success. The 2007 tournament expanded on this success with two overseas teams competing alongside the ladies from the four local clubs. This part of the tournament is set to rival the mens in size and popularity and we are looking forward to welcoming the overseas teams who visited us last year in addition to several new teams.
Also an intergral and popular part of the tournament has been the mini-rugby exhibition games. The mini-rugby program has over 160 participants and the sevens tournamant gives them a chance to showcase their abilities in front of an enthusiastic and vociferous crowd.
In addition to the mini-rugby exhibition game there will be a middle-school exhibition game featuring two teams as trained by two of the local clubs. This is an extension to the expanding program at this level which saw two high-school teams visit the island in March 2007 and we hope to welcome more teams in the future to play our youth teams.
The venue for the 2008 tournament is again the National Stadium (North Field) - five minutes from the first class amenities offered by Bermuda's capital Hamilton and only 30 mins from Bermuda International Airport. The pitch is the home of the World Rugby Classic - which provides world class playing facilities for players, spectators and corporate sponsors alike.

Also if you are interested in entering, or indeed have any questions or comments on the above, please do not hesitate to contact us on the following address info@bermudasevens.com.
